Associate Editor, Education & Psychology - Publishers Marketplace

The Associate Editor or Editor, depending on experience, will be responsible for managing and growing the US Education lists in Educational Psychology, Testing and Assessment, and Quantitative Education Research Methods. They will pursue and develop book projects, notably textbooks and reference product, in line with list strategy and will also progress contracted projects. The role will involve close liaison with the US and UK books and journals education teams, series editors, book authors, and professional organizations, as well as marketing, production, and sales colleagues. The position will involve convention and campus travel throughout North America.

DUTIES:

?Responsible for maintaining and developing book series and individual projects for assigned lists in the US education program
?The role will involve extensive research of the US education market, entailing campus travel and some convention attendance in North America
?Close liaison with the US and UK education books and journals teams, series editors, book authors, and professional organizations, as well as marketing, production, and sales colleagues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

?At least 2 years? experience as a Senior Editorial Assistant, Developmental Editor, and/or Associate Editor
?Must be a self-starter who can work independently, while liaising effectively with other team members
?Excellent written and verbal communication skills; highly organized; keen financial sense, and ability to budget and analyze financial data; ability to prioritize work under pressure
?Strong word processing, spreadsheet and database skills essential
?Some knowledge of English language/linguistics is desirable

EDUCATION:

?BA or equivalent educational experience
